THE STORY

CIA Agent Phillip is having doubts about his service to his country and his assignments to kill the very people he once befriended. His boss tells him to do his job and not question orders, but Phillip has made his decision and refuses to kill anymore. To save his life his boss takes him out the field and re-assigns him to the easy job of training a South Korean female spy to assassinate the leader of North Korea. But the female is not who is appear to be, Phillip is betrayed by his own people and everyone is now a target.

For the first time ever, Korean and Black film producers have joined forces to produce a new action/drama/espionage feature film. "Testament" the first in a trilogy written, executive produced and starring Ron Becks(FilmGod Studios) is the story of a CIA operative who refuses to kill anymore is assigned to an easy job, train a Korean woman in CIA procedures to bring down the separation in Korean politics. It is directed, edited and produced by Young Man Kang whose award winning films Image of Korea, Cupid's Mistake, Haitian sLAVE , Yoos Roots about Korean life are will respected in the Korean community but cross all cultural boundaries embracing all races. Becks and Kang have joined forces to expose racial stereotypes, create a dialogue between the Black and Korean cultures and to entertain audience world wide with a thrilling action/drama.

Starting at age 5 in the film "Odds Against Tomorrow" with Harry Belafonte, Ron Becks has gone on to be the leading man in 5 feature films "Sher Mountain Mystery", "Come & Get It", "Say A Little Prayer" and Television shows "Sharks Paradise", "Romantically Yours", "Home and Away", "The Legend Of Billy Blue" in the United States and Australia. With extensive stage experience "Sweet Bird of Youth", "Rear Window", "Serious Money", "Eyes Of The Whites", "Black Ball Game", "Hair(Musical)", "Golden Boy", "Zainmouth", "Jilsa", he toured on stage with Lauren Bacall in the play Sweet Bird of Youth .

Luciano Saber (Hawk)


Luciano Saber began his professional acting career in Chicago where he starred in numerous plays including Sing For Me Naxia the play received critical acclaim, winning the Chicago theatre Directors Award. Saber then a surprise move and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he eventually served at the Pentagons Office of Special Investigations, leading sting operations from the Mexican border to Western Europe. Life threatening situations and international intrigue put Saber behind the scenes of world affairs. After a decorated military career, Saber returned to Chicago, worked WCFC-TV as an investigative reporter on the nationally syndicated program Page 2 Solid Rock Videos In 1996, Saber left WCFC-TV and started his own film production company, LS Films Inc. Two year later, he produced, wrote and starred Placebo Effect, this film was honored at the New York International Independent Film Festival with Best Feature, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography. Soo J. Kim (Noh)



Soo Kim was born in Korea but has grown up on the East Coast since she was one and grew up in California since 1985. In high school, she found a passion for dance and acting that grew as she earned her Film Studies degree from UC Santa Barbara. Soo took classes and started acting in plays in college, even commuting from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles to perform in a play her last quarter in college, but she did not start her professional career until 1998. In 1998, Soo Kim attended the American Academy of Dramtic Arts, continued on to the Piero Dusa Acting Conservatory, and has now turned to private classes to further fine tune her acting skills. During that time, she has done numerous plays in Los Angeles and Orange County, as well as many film shorts and feature films including Last Mountain and Leathal Weapon 4.

Renata Florin (Joan)

Besides performing in films and stage for years and enjoying success and praise from the critics. Renata also has her own production company (White Lighting) and children books publishing company (Star Dancing)

Hiromi Nishiyama (Agent Matsui)

A native of Japan, Hiromi Nishiyama had grown up watching a lot of American television. Her career began as a singer and a dancer, appearing in numerous Japanese stage shows. Since her 1993 arrival in Hollywood, she has been constantly refining her performing skills, appearing in such television shows and feature films as "Go For Broke," with Bobby Brown, "Baseketball" with the creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, "Chick Fighter," where she had a dual role, and "Watermelon Sushi" where she portrayed a character who aged from twenty to fifty. Her martial arts abilities utilized in "1st Testament: CIA Vengeance" demonstraates the sultry and wicked side of performing that hasn't been seen since Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed the Catwoman in "Batman Returns."

Iva Hasperger (Greta)

Iva is an American Academy of Dramatic Arts graduate. Early 2001, Iva was the principal in a commercial shot for Steven Spielberg's upcoming feature film, "Minority Report (w/Tom Cruise)." It is a commercial within the film. In March, Iva completed shooting a nice suporting role with Lou Diamond Phillips, in his upcoming feature film, "Twisted Fate." Most recently, Iva booked a very nice supporting role in the next Walt Disney Pictures'/Touchstone Pictures' feature film, "Frank McClusky, C.I." Iva will shoot in May and June 2001.

Kimmarie Johnson was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, 1971. She attended college, and majored in Elementary Education, minor in Child Psychology. As a part time job, she modeled locally which spun her into a successful modeling career which led her to several modeling markets including; New York, Chicago, and Spain. Arriving back to Pittsburgh, she competed in the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant, and was Crowned Miss Pennsylvania. She competed in the Nation wide Miss U.S.A. (hosted by Dick Clark), where she finished in the final three. After a year of traveling as Miss Pennsylvania, Kimmarie was picked up by a manager and an agent in Los Angeles. She began studying acting in Los Angeles, while modeling, doing music videos and national commercial spots. After years of intensive study, she began booking roles on 90210, V.I.P., USA High, etc..., and has worked on many films including; Dude, Where's my car?, Let's Talk About Sex, Heart of a Champion, to name a few. Kimmarie also has an extensive dance background, but focuses on Jazz Dance. She'd love to be able to perform all her talents in a Broadway show someday.

Gina Hiraizumi (CIA Japan Agent)

Gina Hiraizumi was named one of the "Top 10 Asian American Stars to Watch" just last year. For those who are watching, she is living up to the promise.
Gina started her career studying with acting teacher, Aaron Speiser. After guest-starring on the short-lived MTV series Spyder Games, Gina was tapped for the role of "Yasmina" on the NBC teen series "City Guys" (1997). Other television credits include a recurring role on the daytime soap Port Charles and guest-starring roles on the FX series "Lucky" (2003) starring John Corbett.
Gina made the move to feature films when director Stephen Townsend wrote her into his film Kingston High. Soon after, her breakout role as "Asia Lee" in the controversial indie film, Soap Girl (2002)caught the attention of major industry players. So much so, Academy Award winning director, Chris Tashima cast her as his leading actress in his short film, Day of Independence.

Jasmine Jong Ok Kang(HaKoon's Wife)


Jasmine Jong Ok Kang was born in Korea, moved to Los Angeles where she started acting career.
Fluent in both Korean and English, "1st Testament" marks her first feature film and supporting role in controversial film "Soap Girl" in 2002.

Ken Yasuda (Takezawa)


At the age of 17, Ken Yasuda came to the US from Kyoto, the ancient city of Japan. He excelled in baseball and swimming in college and was trained in theatre at Pomona College and University of Southern California. With his background on sports and having 3rd degree black belt in martial arts, he started to act in films, TV and commercials. However he recognized that he needs to develop a character which Hollywood has never seen Asian men. In 1999, at only his second contest, he won Mr. Japan Bodybuilding Title. With his physique and multi-talent in acting, sports and business, he is known as The Arnold Schwarzenegger of Asia. He has appeared on Red Sun Rising, Just Add Love, and starring in romantic comedy Cupid's Mistake.

Fabrice Uzan (French Division CIA Agent)


Fabrice Uzan,
Born in France, Graduated Acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute,
started his careere in French television and theater and then worked in theater,
television and film in the U.S.
His credit includes, Days of our lives, Usher Directed by Curtis Harrington,
Dead Tides, My Life with Buk (Life of Bukowsky), Casse Coup
which will be released in April and now First Testament.



ABOUT THE FILMMAKER

Young Man Kang (Director/Producer/Editor)



Young Man Kang studied fine arts at Hong-ik University in Seoul, Korea. In 1994, Kang moved to New York City where he studied film at The New School. In 1996, Kang moved to Los Angeles and continued his film career working as a director for a television commercial production company. In addition to his fifty-plus commercial credits, Young's 1999 claymation short entitled 'Image of Korea' was distributed by Big Film Shorts and released on DVD by Quickband/Warner Brothers.

In September 2000, 'Cupid's Mistake' marked his feature film directorial debut at the Laemmle's Sunset 5 Theater in Los Angeles followed by a second screening at the Pioneer Theater in New York City in August 2001. 'Cupid's Mistake' set the record in the Guinness World Records for least expensive feature film at $980.00.

Mr. Kang's short film, 'Toilet Lesson' was the Official Selection at Tromadance 2001. Both of Young's next films, his second feature film 'First Testament: CIA Vengeance' and the documentary, 'Haitian Slave Children' premiered in Los Angeles 2001.

'First Testament: CIA Vengeance' won the Special B-Movie Achievement Award and 3 Nominations at The 2002 B-Movie Film Festival in New York and released on DVD in 2004.

'Haitian Slave Children' received 'Best Effort Documentary' at the 2001 Jamerican International Film Festival and took the Silver Remi Award in the WorldFest Houston 2002.

Mr. Kang's third feature is the sexy romantic comedy 'Soap Girl'(2002). This third effort won the Audience Award at the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival. 'Soap Girl' also received notice as the Official Selection at the Riverside International Film Festival 2003 and The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. 'Soap Girl' opened in Hollywood at the Fairfax Laemmle Theater and Gardena in December 2002.

On tour, 'Soap Girl' heads for the Lone Star State in January appearing at the Border Theater in Mission, Texas, January 18. The sexy comedy then sails all the way out to Hawaii to appear at the Wallace Theater in Honolulu, February 14, 2003.

'Soap Girl' was rated one of the '10 BEST UNSEEN FILMS OF 2002' and received Five Stars in 'Film Threat.' More than any other film to date, 'Soap Girl' has created internet controversy and debate.

Young's fourth feature was the supernatural mystery 'Death Valley Diary'(2004).

An epic film entitled "The Last Eve", Mr. Kang's fifth feature, has won the "Best Action Feature Film Award" at the 2005 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival.
"The Last Eve" is an epic film consisting of three different short films using Adam and Eve from the Bible as motifs.

 

Ron Becks (Executive Producer/Writer/Actor)

Ron Becks born in New York, learned movie production from great Otto Preminger and Joe E. Levine. He was nominated as the Executive Producer/Director/Writer to the NAMIC Hall of Fame for his TV show Romantically Yours. He is also the Artistic Director of the Beverly Hills Community Theater and a teacher at a Los Angeles College. Another side of Becks is his work in community service and dedication to humanitarian causes. He is listed in "Who's Who in the World -95-96" and the IBC Cambridge, England. He was the Deputy Ambassador at the United Nations Association in Australia, he has worked and helped many civic organizations around the world.
